WELCOME

ULLA is a European university consortium for pharmaceutical sciences. Every other year, an ULLA workshop is organized for PhD students from the member institutes. The workshop spans about 3 days and comprises both teaching and hands-on sessions. About 40 students are selected by the different institutes to participate.

The 2025 ULLA workshop will be dedicated to biological and bio-inspired therapeutics (design, delivery and analytics). It will be organised by the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Geneva, Switzerland.

Learning goals and set up of the program

Immerse yourself in the dynamic world of biological and bio-inspired therapeutics! This workshop offers an excellent opportunity to learn the fundamentals of design, delivery and analytics through engaging lectures, visits of laboratories, and hands-on experiments. Various types of innovative therapeutics will be explored, including peptides, oligonucleotides, proteins, monoclonal antibody and related compounds, as well as gene therapy products and advanced delivery systems. A special emphasis will be placed on the diverse analytical tools available to characterize these complex drugs, such as spectroscopy, electrophoresis, chromatography, mass spectrometry…

Basic knowledge

This program is designed for PhD students looking to expand their understanding of next-generation drugs, including their design, delivery, and analysis. The workshop will cover both fundamental/basic concepts and advanced applications.

Location: Centre Médical Universitaire (CMU), 10 minutes from the old town and 25 minutes walk from the Geneva lake.
